On the eve of Victory Day, May 8, 2026, the Deputy Chair of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, Member of the Council of the Republic, Chief Physician of the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus Irina Stepanovna Abelskaya visited the site where over 200 defenders of the Motherland rest – soldiers of the 64th Rifle Division and medics of the medical battalion in the village of Podgorye, Minsk District.

The flower-laying ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus A. Khodzhaev, the Rector of Belarusian State Medical University S. Rubnikovich, and the Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers V. Shilo. Those gathered laid flowers at the obelisk and honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence.
