Ivan Vasilievich Strekha, head of the surgical department of Uzda Central District Hospital, spoke to "Medical Herald" about the results of participating in the educational project "Modern Medicine in Regions."

During the 3rd Belarusian International Endovideo Surgical Forum "On the Crossroads," the young department head was awarded a certificate for a free training course at the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus. Ivan Vasilievich has already completed the five-day training course at the republican center using the certificate.
"At the Republican Clinical Medical Center, there is video communication between classrooms and operating rooms, a modern simulation educational center for skills practice, and, of course, highly skilled mentors who will help with mastering new interventions, explain how to prevent complications, and answer all questions," said the head of Uzda Central District Hospital.

Afterward, active collaboration between the Republican Clinical Medical Center and Uzda Central District Hospital began within the "Modern Medicine in Regions" project for minimally invasive surgery. Deputy Chief Surgeon of the Republican Clinical Medical Center, candidate of medical sciences Yuriy Slobodin, came to Uzda Central District Hospital for master classes in June of this year. Laparoscopic cholecystectomies and minimally invasive operations for inguinal hernias were performed. In November 2023, the Deputy Chief Surgeon of the Republican Clinical Medical Center again conducted a series of surgical interventions at Uzda Central District Hospital with the participation of district doctors. For example, in minimally invasive surgery for inguinal hernias. Now, Yuriy Slobodin played the role of an assistant, and local doctors acted as operating surgeons. They worked on problematic technical and tactical issues, dissecting them together.

The EDUCATIONAL PROJECT "MODERN MEDICINE IN REGIONS" is implemented by the Republican Clinical Medical Center, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, in collaboration with regional hospitals in the Brest, Grodno, and Minsk regions.
