Male diseases such as prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate adenoma), and erectile dysfunction occur mostly after 40-45 years of age.

Arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome - there is a clear link between general diseases and the development of urological pathologies. A man of this age will almost certainly have acquired type 2 diabetes, obesity and concomitant cardiologic pathology. This is a significant driver of urolithiasis and erectile dysfunction, and it also predisposes to oncopathology.

To prevent the disease, you must adopt a healthy, rational diet, avoid bad habits, exercise moderately, work and rest appropriately, sleep sufficiently, and maintain mental well-being -  they are all beneficial to health in general and urological health in particular.

What urology tests do men need to undergo?
In Belarus, screening of men for prostate cancer is recommended from the age of 45. PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test is performed once every 2 years according to the norms.

An ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder with evaluation of the volume of residual urine after urination must be performed annually for mature and elderly men.

But in general, medical examination should begin with a visit to the general practitioner. He fills out various questionnaires, prescribes basic general clinical examinations and then sends the patient to more specialized specialists, if necessary.
