The national educational project "Start the Heart" was launched
Pupils of 10th grades in Belarus will take part in this unique project

On the initiative of specialists of the Republican Clinical Medical Centre of the Presidential Administration and the Belarusian Society of Simulation Training in Medicine, with the support of the Ministries of Health and Education, a new training project "Start the Heart" is being launched.

The goal is to teach young people first aid skills in cardiac arrest. Participants of the interdepartmental project will be tenth-graders from all regions of the country. Specialists will teach them basic first aid skills for life-threatening and (or) health-threatening conditions and the method of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

As part of the sixth form day, pupils will be taught basic CPR skills for life threatening conditions.

The first event of the project took place on 16 March. The RKMC was visited by high school students from Minsk and Minsk district. Theoretical and practical training using profile equipment was provided by specialists of the simulation centre.

  • Theoretical part of the event - consideration of the principles of first aid, based on the recommendations of the "International Guidelines for First Aid and Resuscitation-2021", as well as the study of the issues of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with modern protocols. 
  • Practical part - practising practical skills on modern simulators and simulators, solving a situational problem in real time using manual skills.

Deputy Minister of Health Yuri Gorbich and Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubai joined the students of Minsk Gymnasium 19 to launch the project.

The project will run until 11 May and will end on 18 May with a flash mob.
