Diagnostic procedures: bronchoscopy, fibrogastroduodenoscopy, fibrocolonoscopy, endoultrasonography, cholangioscopy. Therapeutic procedures: bile duct stenting, intraluminal endoscopic surgical procedures.
Equipment used: endoscopic virtual simulator with the haptic feedback feature (made in USA and Canada).
training duration - 16 hours (two days)
number of listeners – 2 to 4 students
The evolution of novel endoscopic techniques and development of endoscopic services has lead to an increased importance of endoscopy specialist training. Acquiring and mastering endoscopic techniques at a virtual simulator makes it possible to gain basic skills without endangering patients, and to hone these skills under the guidance of an instructor. The simulator offers the physician a possibility to acquire clinical experience in various virtual scenarios while eliminating the possibility of any actual complications. The gained experience will be used in actual medical practice. The training program involves learning and analyzing of basic theoretical and practical aspects relating to endoscopic manipulation procedures, in persons of normal anatomical organization and in cases of various digestive tract and tracheobronchial tree disorders.
The training program focuses on practical skill training (it involves 12 hours of training at the Virtual Endoscopy Simulator CAE Healthcare/METI). During the training course, trainees will perfect basic endoscopy diagnostic and therapy techniques used in the therapy and diagnosis of digestive tract and tracheobronchial tree disorders. Each training module completes with a documented analysis of the manipulation by the simulator, which demonstrates its duration and any errors and deficiencies.
The aim: professional development of medical specialists in the most actual theoretical and practical issues of flexible endoscopy.
After the completion of the training course, trainees will carry out practical training tasks as part of a simulation scenario (solving a specific case problem using manual skills). Trainees succeeding in the practical test will be issued completion certificates.
