Within the statistical structure of temporary incapacity to work of Belarusian citizens, neurological manifestations of degenerative disorders of the cervical and lumber section of the spine account for 6.86%, second only to acute respiratory diseases (ARD). It should also noted that spine disorders rank second or third among the physical disabilities caused by nervous disorders (about 17%). Accordingly, research of effective treatment methods is one of the essential problems of the national public health service system.

Our competence development program was designed with consideration of recent achievements of the medical science in the areas of diagnosis and therapy of degenerative spinal cord disorders. The program covers the most relevant problems faced by practicing medical specialists.

The program is delivered by heads and specialists of the Neurology Deaprtment, the X-Ray Department, our Chiropractor and Clinical Pharmacologist.

The aim of the competence development program is professional development of neurology specialists in the field of treatment of patients affected by painful condition associated with degenerative disorders of the spinal cord, both at inpatient facilities and on an outpatient basis.

The training program is aimed at the enhancement and gaining new knowledge in the sphere of diagnosis and treatment of vertebrogenic pathologies and peripheral nervous system disorders.


Types of training activities: lectures and practical training sessions.

Teaching methods: clinical case studies and medical manipulation training with the use of simulation equipment.

Training aids: computers, multimedia projector, printed materials, video films, multi-function patient simulator (for training emergency medical service provision).

Final skill and knowledge assessment is carried
out in the form of an interview.
