The training course is intended for surgeons, urinologists and obstetrician/gynecologists. Training equipment: training simulators for laparoscopy and robot-assisted interventions (UAS, Germany)
training duration - 40 hours (five days)
number of listeners – 2 to 3 students
In 2018, the world’s second robotic system Senhance made by TransEnterix (USA) was deployed and is successfully operating in the Republic of Belarus. The first robotic system DaVinci made by Intuitive (USA) has been widely used in clinical practice in Belarus since 1999.
The TransEnterix's Senchance robotic offers a number of advantages. Some major strengths of the system are:
- the enhanced system control environment in terms of surgical area activity visualization;
- the haptic feedback feature;
- the robotic system implements laparoscopic surgery principles;
- the availability of multiple-use instruments that require sterilization; and
- reduced time needed for instrument installation, shorter system startup time (seven to ten minutes) and decreased instrument replacement times – little as one minute.
The implementation and application of the new robotic system made it possible to improve the quality of performed interventions in surgery, urinology and gynecology due to the station's excellent digital 3D visualization, comfortable controls and the high-precision surgery feature.
The aim of the training program “Basic operation of Senhance robotic system” is the development of capacity of surgeons, urinologists and obstetrician/gynecologists to operate the robotic system.
The objectives of the training program are studying the theory of operation of the robotic system, acquiring the skills needed to operate main components of the system, and mastering the skills of operation of the system with the use of a simulator.
Types of training activities: lectures and practical training sessions.
Teaching methods: theoretical basics of the design and operation of the robotic system covered in the form of lectures, presentation and practical training.
Training aids: computers, multimedia projector, printed materials, the Senhance robotic system made by TransEnterix (USA), the simulation box for the development of hands-on skills.
The duration of the competence development program is one week (40 hours), with full time mode of study.
Final skill and knowledge assessment is carried out in the form of an interview.
