PCR diagnostics
PCR diagnostics is a highly accurate molecular genetic diagnostic technique which makes it possible to reveal various infectious and hereditary disorders.
INDICATIONS FOR PCR DIAGNOSTICS
For most infections, PCR diagnostics has become a kind of "gold standard". PCR diagnostics is:
- direct detection of the presence of a pathogen in the test sample;
- high specificity, allowing the identification of a unique DNA or RNA region;
- high sensitivity of the method, enabling the detection of even single pathogen cells (viruses, bacteria);
- the technique allows for the detection of several pathogens from a single sample;
- the possibility of detecting pathogens before the onset of disease symptoms (preclinical diagnostics) and after a past illness (retrospective diagnostics).
OUR LABORATORY PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING TESTS:
Urogenital Infections
- Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis DNA by real-time PCR.
- Quantitative determination of Ureaplasma parvum, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis by real-time PCR.
Papillomavirus Infections
- HPV Screening: Quantitative determination of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA: fourteen types of high carcinogenic risk (HPV HCR 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68) associated with cervical cancer, with differentiated detection of HPV types 16, 18, and 45 DNA by real-time PCR (screening test for women and men).
- HPV Quant-21: Detection, typing, and quantitative determination of human papillomavirus (21 parameters). Quant-21 is the most comprehensive available test for detecting human papillomavirus in the genital tract. It can determine the presence of 21 HPV types, 14 of which are high-risk (causing cancer), and the remaining 7 are low-risk (can cause warts, condylomas, etc.).
- Advantages of the Quant-21 analysis:
- Determines the presence of all known HPV strains that can cause cervical dysplasia and cancer.
- Indicates the quantity of detected viruses in the biomaterial (so-called viral load).
Quant-21 provides comprehensive information for the physician, based on which the specialist chooses patient management tactics and calculates the risk of developing cervical dysplasia and cancer in the coming years.
- Advantages of the Quant-21 analysis:
Herpesvirus Infections
- Detection of Herpes Simplex Virus type 1/2 DNA by real-time PCR.
- Detection and quantitative determination of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), Cytomegalovirus, and Human Herpesvirus type 6 DNA by real-time PCR.
Respiratory Tract Infections
- PCR test for COVID-19 (detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in nasopharyngeal and/or oropharyngeal swabs).
- Detection of Influenza A virus and Influenza B virus RNA by real-time PCR.
- Detection of pathogens of acute respiratory viral infections (respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza viruses types 1-4, rhinovirus, adenovirus, metapneumovirus, coronaviruses HKU1, NL63, OC43, 229E, bocavirus) by real-time PCR.
- Detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydophila pneumoniae DNA by real-time PCR.
- Detection of Bordetella pertussis DNA by real-time PCR.
- Detection of Legionella pneumophila DNA by real-time PCR.
Viral Hepatitis Diagnostics
- Qualitative determination of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) DNA by real-time PCR (analytical sensitivity 50 IU/mL).
- Quantitative determination of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) DNA by real-time PCR (analytical sensitivity 150-100x10⁶ IU/mL).
- Qualitative determination of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA by real-time PCR (analytical sensitivity 100 IU/mL).
- Quantitative determination of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA by real-time PCR (analytical sensitivity 300-100x10⁶ IU/mL).
