The most prevalent women’s oncological diseases in the Republic of Belarus are: 1 – breast cancer (22.8%), 2 – colorectal cancer (12.5%), 3 – uterine corpus cancer (10.8%). Somewhat less frequently occurring are ovarian cancer (4.6%) and cervix carcinoma (4.1%).
INDICATIONS FOR THE EXAMINATION
- A history of cancer in close family members;
- exposure to carcinogenic factors;
- a history of disorders with a high risk of evolution into an oncological disease;
- detected early-stage tissue changes.
SCREENING STUDIES PERFORMED AT THE RCMC
SI “Republican Clinical Medical Center” offers the services of regular comprehensive screening tests for women. The composition of each comprehensive screening examination of women was developed with consideration of age division of patients:
Less than 29 years old
* Mammal gland cancer screening
- mammal gland ultrasonography;
- mammologist’s examination and counseling.
* Uterine neck cancer screening
- gynecologist’s examination and counseling;
- colposcopy;
- uterine neck swab;
- liquid-based Papanicolaou cytology test;
- ultrasonography of pelvic organs (transvaginal ultrasonic examination).
The program is intended for outpatients.
30 to 39 years old
* Mammal gland cancer screening
- mammal gland ultrasonography;
- mammologist’s examination and counseling.
* Uterine neck cancer screening
- gynecologist’s examination and counseling;
- colposcopy;

- HPV test;

Over 40 years old
* Mammal gland cancer screening
- mammal gland ultrasonography;
- mammography
- mammologist’s examination and counseling.
* Uterine neck cancer screening
- gynecologist’s examination and counseling;
- colposcopy;
- uterine neck swab;
- HPV test;
- ultrasonography of pelvic organs:
* Colorectal cancer screening;
- colonoscopy;
- intravenous anesthesia;
- biopsy.
* Lung canter screening
- low-exposure computer tomography of thoracic cage organs;
- an analysis and report by an X-ray diagnostics specialist.
* hospitalization for two days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
All the above tests and examinations shall be appointed by the consulting physician, and performed based on the medical condition of the patient.
PREPARING FOR SCREENING
- Please bring along the results of previous medical studies (if any).
- Women of over 40 years old preparing for colonoscopy shall maintain a low-residue diet for 10 days before the procedure.
HOW DO I HAVE A SCREENING EXAMINATION AT THE RCMC?
- You should call the Contact Center to make a reservation for screening studies.
- Fill in and sign a paid service contract at the Reception.
- Pay the bill at the RCMC pay office, or through the ERIP electronic peyment system.
- Visit the Center on the appointed day.
