A bacteriology study is an examination aimed at isolation of bacteria and their study to establish a microbiological diagnosis.
INDICATIONS FOR BACTERIOLOGY STUDIES
- Chronic respiratory organ disorders
- Purulent processes
- Gastrointestinal infections, dysbacteriosis
- Infections of the urinoexcretory system
- Sexually transmitted diseases
- Sepsis
OUR LABORATORY PERFORMS:
- studies of stool and pathogenic intestinal flora swabs for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms
- studies of blood for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms
- studies of sputum and bronchial washings for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms
- studies of urine for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms (using the semi-quantitative method)
- studies of puss obtained from wounds, drainages, abscesses, transudates, exudates etc. for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms;
- studies of materials obtained from the urogenital tract (urethra and genital organs) for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms;
- studies of materials obtained from sensory organs (eyes and ears) for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms;
- studies of materials obtained from nasal pharynx, nose and oral pharynx for aerobic and optionally anaerobic organisms;
- studies of breast milk;
- studies of intestinal microbiocenosis (dysbacteriosis) in the absence of diagnostically significant microbial organisms;
- determination of sensitivity of a specific microbe strain to antibiotics.
All the studies are performed by the Bacteriology Laboratory using advanced analyzing equipment.

HOW DO I GET MY TEST TAKEN?
- You need to complete and sign a paid service contract at the Reception or, if you have a physician's referral, present it to the receptionist.
- Pay the bill at the RCMC pay office, or through the ERIP electronic payment system.
- Have your sample taken.
Test material is accepted according to schedule (Friday through Monday), from 8:00 till 10:00. Test results are made available to the physician and the patient at 15:00 on the same day.
